Amending Proposition 13 Could Hurt California Business Owners
California’s Proposition 13 amendments have been qualified for the state’s 2020 ballot. While some are excited about this possible change commercial real estate owners are not among them.
If amendments were made the property tax increase is said to benefit the schools, colleges, affordable housing, emergency services and local programs. There has been many efforts made in the past for change with no success
However according to Costar, Business and real estate groups are warning that its passage would contribute to what they call an already unfriendly business and regulatory climate and cause more companies to move out of California.
