Dallas is Number One City in the Country for New Apartment Construction

New apartment construction has continued to grow across the country and Dallas has produced most out of all the cities in the U.S. Dallas also has more to come in the future, however most apartments will be luxury properties and won’t necessarily cater to the middle to lower budgets.

Dallas Business Journal states, “Although there has been a steady stream of new product, which has caused a slight dip in occupancy, it hasn’t stopped the annual rent rate from rising in North Texas. In Dallas, the annual rent rate rose 2.3 percent compared to 3.2 percent nationally from the first quarter of last year to the first quarter of 2019, according to RealPage.”

Although rent rates are increasing in Dallas, other cities actually increase quite a bit more. In 2018 DFW was a top multifamily market and is predicted to be the same in 2019.
