Office Delivery Expected to Double in 2017
Of the 10.5 million square feet office office real estate currently under construction across North Texas, over 70 percent of it will open its doors in 2017, experts say. That’s nearly twice as much office space coming online this year than last year. But will there be enough tenants to fill the space?
While a large portion of the construction is already leased to large corporations like Toyota, Liberty Mutual and JPMorgan Chase, there’s still some uncertainty about whether the rest of the space will be quickly absorbed since 2016’s net office leasing total was North Texas’ lowest in the last five years.
