Taxes In Texas: Look For a CRE Appraisal Increase

hroughout the Lone Star State, tax assessment districts mailed out valuations to commercial real estate owners, and those owners have 30 days to appeal the valuation. GlobeSt.com recently reported that, during the past handful of years, valuations had trended down – but that trend could be about to change.

“What we’re seeing is selective increases in pretty much all the commercial real estate classes,” says Rick Kurz with Dallas-based Kurz Group Inc.  He goes on to say that while office and multifamily properties seem to be leading the appraisal increases, industrial is not immune from increases.
